I'm not just weird…

So, Heather tagged me last week to do that whole ten weird things about me meme. And I’ve been sorta angsting about it, because, well I’m a geek who angsts about this kind of thing, and really, while I have a very odd sense of humour, I’d say I’m so darn boring there aren’t ten weird things about me.

Then this weekend happened and I did something really, really stupid. And it shows just how darn weird I am. So here goes:

1. I will not go through a car wash. Ever. Apparently, when I was like two, I’d start screaming if we even drove on a street that had a car wash on it. No idea why. Still don’t. But I won’t go in. And my car is really dirty.

2. Every time I go to the mailbox, I hope…just for a second…that my invitation to Hogwarts is in there waiting for me. I know.

3. I’m the oldest child, and oldest grandchild on both sides of the family.

4. I hate wearing shoes and socks, and yet I own a ton of shoes. In many colours. And socks. In equally odd colours. My favourite are my It’s Happy Bunny socks. :)

5. I was a finalist in a Nintendo-sponsored singing contest held in the Eaton Centre. I sang “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Mis.

6. This is why I love to watch every single tv reality show singing competition. Every one. Every episode. Yes, I’m watching the Grease one right now.

7. I expect myself to be perfect at everything I do the first time I do it. And I get pissed off at myself when I’m not. And I tend to give up when I can’t do it.

8. I am very much a Scorpio and all of the good and bad traits known with that sign.

9. I’m nine days older than T. Our paths crossed a billion times in our lives and yet, we didn’t meet until we were 28.

10. This weekend, I cut my hand open on salsa. No, not a broken jar of salsa. On the actual salsa. The cut is on the fleshy part under my thumb, and it’s really hard to type or really use that hand (my right, of course) when it hurts to use my thumb.

I’m supposed to tag ten people to do this, but I don’t think I have ten readers, so I tag anyone who wants to do this who hasn’t already done it. :)

You cut your finger on salsa? Salsa? Did I read that right? lol

How funny you had to think up ten things. I had to narrow down a hundred werdnesses about myself to ONLY ten. lol And believe me. I’m just as boring. :)

I followed everything until 10. HOW did you do this? Were you making the Salsa?

I’m a closet singer. I haven’t participated in Karaoke lately, but I sing daily in the shower and throughout the house. I love American Idol–haven’t watched the one for Grease yet, because I keep forgetting it’s on–either that or my Guy decided to hide it from me because we torture him with AI and other reality shows. Oh and in JR High, when the guy who backed out of playing Danny Zuko, I was asked to step in his place, so I did–embarrassingly enough–and did it with pinache, style and grace.

I hope your invitation comes one day. ‘-)

Hee, yeah, I had to share that one, cuz it’s such a dumb and well, me, thing to do…

I finished a bottle of salsa and left it on the counter to remember to rinse out before I put in for recycling. And it sat there for a while (i’m not really the best homemaker, and when it’s just me living here, I can not notice the state of my house for a long time…).

So when I finally opened it up to rinse it out, I guess I didn’t notice the dried salsa on the outside of the lid. Somehow, when I twisted the lid, this dried up bit of salsa must have had such a sharp point, that it ripped an inch-long gash in my hand.

It’s been three days and it still hurts like hell. Dumbass. *grin*

*tries not to laugh at Laurie and the salsa*

  5. says:

hee, Immi. Laugh away. Everyone else has…

I’d shake my head in embarassment, but seriously, it’s not that uncommon. I’m a total klutz. One of these days I’ll tell the story about the scar on my knee that I got going up a down escalator. *grin*

I don’t think I’ve ever known anyone who cut their finger on salsa. That’s amazing!

That’s great you won a singing competition. And that’s not an easy song to sing! I was a music major for a bit and even auditioned for American Idol.
